I Just Use Highschool Math On Real Life
21 Dec 2024
Back in my school days, I often wondered why we were learning concepts like geometry, thinking, “When would I ever use this in real life?” Surprisingly, yesterday I found myself applying Thales’ Theorem while working on a design project. I needed to determine the radius of a circle, and this theorem turned out to be the perfect tool. Thales’ Theorem states that if a triangle is inscribed in a circle such that one of its sides is the diameter, then the angle opposite this side is a right angle. By applying this principle, I was able to calculate the radius with precision, and it worked like a charm. It was a satisfying moment that connected theoretical learning with practical application, making those school lessons feel incredibly valuable.
